When is the placement fee due? +
The $350 search initiation fee is due upon signing the agency agreement. The placement fee — typically 15–20% of annual compensation, starting at $5,500 — is due upon hiring, prior to the nanny's start date.
Is the search initiation fee refundable? +
No — the $350 search initiation fee is non-refundable. It covers your initial consultation, job description creation, and the initial sourcing of candidates, which begins immediately upon signing.
What does the replacement guarantee cover? +
If your placed nanny leaves or doesn't work out within the guarantee period, we will conduct a new search at no additional placement fee. Full-time placements receive a 4-month guarantee; some part-time tiers receive 30 days.
What are your minimum guaranteed hours requirements? +
All nanny placements require a minimum of 25 guaranteed hours per week. We strongly encourage 30+ hours for more sustainable placements and a larger candidate pool. If your needs are between 25–29 hours per week, we recommend offering a minimum of $30/hr or more to attract committed, career-focused nannies. For childcare needs below 25 hours, our On-Call Sitter Membership offers flexible, vetted coverage whenever you need it.
Can I discuss fees before committing? +
Absolutely. Book a free family consultation call and our placement coordinator will walk you through the full fee structure, answer your questions, and help you figure out which placement type is right for your family — with no pressure.
Can a family reduce their nanny's hours at the end of a search to lower the placement fee? +
No. The placement fee is calculated based on the role as originally defined and submitted — including the guaranteed weekly hours, hourly rate, and scope of duties. Any changes to hours, compensation, or role structure must be formally submitted in writing to the agency before a placement is confirmed. If a family reduces hours, pay, or responsibilities after the search has commenced — including at the point of hire — the agency reserves the right to either enforce the original placement fee in full or treat the revised arrangement as a new placement. This is most common with part-time placements where tiered pricing applies: starting the search at 30+ hours, then reducing to fewer than 25 hours at the end, does not reclassify the fee. The original tier and fee structure remain in effect.
What happens if we change the job scope after submitting our application? +
All changes to hours, pay, or role structure must be submitted in writing to your placement coordinator before any candidate is presented. The agency cannot retroactively adjust fees based on changes made after recruiting has begun. If a material change is requested mid-search, your coordinator will review whether the revised role constitutes a new placement tier. Changes that reduce compensation or hours do not reduce the placement fee — they affect only the candidate pool going forward.
